Marion Larry Brown “Downtown Larry Brown” , 69, of Borger went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 8, 2021 in Fritch.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm CDT, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at New Life Church. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  The service will be live streamed at bottom of his obituary page on the Minton Chatwell website.

Larry was born March 9, 1952 in Sylvania, Georgia to Marion Smith Brown and Drewilly Hatty (Southward) Brown. Larry grew up and was raised in Freehold, New Jersey where he graduated in 1970.  He lived in Detroit, Michigan for seven years where married Mary Louise Chambers January 4, 1975. They moved to Texas in 1981 where he worked for Phillips Petroleum for 17 years, ASARCO and Owens Corning where he retired. He loved his wife and family. Larry loved helping others, playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Loved high school sports, coaching in Tri City Sports and talking to people. He never met a stranger. He dedicated his life to the church and loved and cherished his Bethel Baptist Church family and was always available when needed.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters, Brenda Horton and Nona Theryln Brown; and brothers, Barry Brown and Thomas Overstreet.

Surviving is his loving wife, Mary Louise; sons, Devin Brown of Borger, Anton Brown of Borger and Larry Dorchy and wife Tina of Georgia; daughters, Tiana Evans and husband Terry Evans of Amarillo, Temeko Dorchy of Florida; sisters, Angie Foster of New Jersey, Beverly Chandler of New York; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and friends; and big sister, Ruth Belton.

Masks will be provided but not required.
