Larry Hopkins

Larry Don Hopkins, 66, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Cross Community Church of God with Pastor Michael Springer officiating.  Mr. Hopkins will be available for visitors on Friday and Saturday.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.

Larry was born January 3, 1955 in Borger to Cecil and Sarah Dennis Hopkins.  He worked as a compressor mechanic for over 27 years for the same company through all of its mergers.  Larry married the love of his life, Judy Kay Anderson, on November 11, 1999 in Taos, New Mexico.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, racing cars, working on cars and BattleBots.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Hopkins of Amarillo; parents, Cecil and Sarah Hopkins of Borger; daughters, Amy Purdy and husband David of Borger, Sara Wharton of Omaha, Texas, Desiree Banda of Amarillo, Pamela Layton and husband Everett of Burleson; son, Christopher Carter of Larimore, North Dakota; grandchildren, Aaron, Emma, Piper, Casey, Emily, Macy, Morgan, Troy; and a host of extended family.
