John Woodruff

November 3, 1965 — January 14, 2022

Panhandle

John “Woody” Alan Woodruff left this earthly life on January 14, 2022 at his home in Panhandle, Texas after a long courageous battle with head and neck cancer.

Woody was born on November 3, 1965 in Pecos, Texas to Richard Glenn Woodruff and Zelda Charlotte Richburg.

He graduated from Hanks High School in El Paso, Texas. He attended West Texas A & M University in Canyon, Texas on a football scholarship.  Woody met and married the love of his life, Veronica Marie Barker on July 31, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. They had 22 wonderful years together.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Charlotte Woodruff.

He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica “Vikki” Woodruff; son, Colton Woodruff and his wife, Lindsey; granddaughter, Charlotte Woodruff; stepson, Taylor Billyard; stepdaughter, Kelsey Billyard; brother, Michael Woodruff and his wife, Debbie Woodruff; and his nieces, Ashley, Bethany, and Chelsey.

Woody was a dedicated employee and worked in various Managerial positions with Central Freight Lines, Home Depot, D&H Petroleum, and TDCJ.  He was a loving husband, devoted father and brother, and proud Pawpaw!  Woody loved all things racing, including racing RC cars, driving off-road vehicles at the dunes, and being involved in the Jeep club. He enjoyed working with his hands and had a talent for accomplishing DIY projects. He loved to travel, go camping, and spend time at Bloys Campmeeting. No matter where he was, or what he was doing, Woody was most happy when surrounded by family.

Woody was larger than life and touched people everywhere he went. He never met a stranger, had a servant's heart, and loved the Lord!

There will be a memorial service held at a later date.

Donations can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital or Bloys Campmeeting @ https://www.Bloyscampmeeting.org.
