Wanda Wood

Wanda Joy Wood, 87. Our beloved Grandmother and Mother passed away on April 2, 2020. Private family service will be at Minton Memorial Chapel followed by graveside at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger .  Joy will lie in state from Noon Sunday until 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. Joy was born September 23, 1932 Grady and Laura Wilson Harris in Mountain View, Oklahoma.  She loved being a nurse for Dr. Stephens and then she and her husband Tom opened a Mexican food restaurant called Cocina de Madera. She attended First Southern Baptist Church and loved her family, painting, quilting and traveling.  She married Thomas "Tom" Wood October 21, 1951 in Clovis, NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister and two brothers.

Joy is survived by her son David Wood of Lubbock, her daughter Lora Johnson of Amarillo, three granddaughters Charlotte Hueitt, Racheal Tomlin and Marcella Wood and five great grandchildren Kaylea, Kyle, Tyler, Drayden and Jennifer Riley.

Casket bearers will be David Wood, Kyle Tomlin, Tyler Tomlin and Drayden Burris.
