Toni Battle

December 19, 1972 — March 14, 2020

Panhandle

Toni Nicole Battle, age 47, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 14th, 2020. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18th at the River in Panhandle.

Toni lit up the world for parents Jay and Patrice Shadid when she was born on December 19, 1972 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Toni sparkled from the beginning to her grandparents' delight. Abraham and Margaret Shadid of Altus, Oklahoma and Harold and Norma O'Neal of Panhandle, Texas (all deceased) loved watching the enchanting child with an infectious laugh as she played dress up and led her siblings Carrie Smith, Brady Shadid and Corby Shadid, all of Panhandle, in fun games with her creativity which knew no bounds. Toni's headstrong personality led her to obtain a degree in criminology from Texas Christian University. She later returned to the University of Texas in Arlington for her teaching degree.

Although she lived for a short time in Dallas, Toni considered herself a lifelong resident of Panhandle. Toni was a talented artist and her appreciation for the Southwest always shone through her art. Toni's most cherished creation was her son, Luke Battle of Panhandle. She loved him with every bit of her heart and was so incredibly proud of him. In addition to her passion for style, fashion and dancing, Toni had a zest for shopping and a talent for choosing the perfect gifts for sisters-in-law Kary Shadid and Joy Shadid of Panhandle and her many nephews and nieces, Jay Patrick Shadid of Fort Benning, GA, Ethan Shadid of Phoenix, AZ, Margaret Smith, Prezley Shadid, Julianna Smith, Evan Shadid, John David Smith and Wil Shadid, all of Panhandle. Toni also leaves behind a huge family of aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends all of whom she loved fiercely. Toni was an aide at Panhandle High School and worked at Dixie Mountain Boutique.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations can be made to the Carson County Square House Museum or to a favorite charity.
