Theodore " Teddy " Buckland Iii

September 14, 1952 — April 19, 2021

Stinnett

Theodore E. Buckland III, known as Teddy by his friends and family (September 14, 1952-April 19, 2021), was peacefully called home for his final walk on Monday, joining loved ones and the Father who joyously awaited his arrival.

Teddy was born in Parsons, Kansas to Leah Jeanne and Theodore Edward Buckland Jr. He was raised in Phillips, Texas and was a proud Blackhawk. He was a loyal member of the fighting Blackhawks’ football team, jersey #63. Teddy was also a lifelong Longhorn fan.

Teddy worked for Phillips 66, then later owned and ran T Bear’s Construction Company, and ended his working days with Fish Construction Company.

Best known for his charming smile, easygoing nature, and adventuresome spirit, Teddy was a loyal friend, a loving father and an inspiration to everyone who crossed his path. Throughout his life, he proved time and again that anything is possible, defying odds and blazing the way forward for those to come.

Teddy was avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and enjoying nature. He loved to travel, drive and ride his motorcycle. He lived life boldly, making a name for himself as something of a wild child as a young man. Even later in life Teddy was always up for a challenge and ready to embrace all that life threw his direction. A man of principle and conviction, compromise wasn’t in his vocabulary; Teddy led each day on his own terms, to the fullest and without regret.

Over the years, Teddy contributed to many worthy causes including Phillips Alumni Association, The American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, various Veterans Organizations, First Presbyterian Church of Borger, Texas, Stinnett Grandmothers’ Club, and many more.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Ted, his baby sister Katie, nephew Ben, Grandparents on both sides, and countless cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He is lovingly survived by sisters Linda and Sandy; son Eric, daughter Brittany and son-in-law Kris; grandchildren Lauren, Brody, and Eason; nieces Mandy and Jamie Lynn; great niece Jade, Kansas relatives April and Callie and families; Godchildren Haley, Kyler, and Spencer, several fur babies, most recently Lucy and Jackson; and thousands of a dearly loved tribe of friends.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday April 24, 2021 at Comanche Football Field at 11:00 am. He will lie in state at the funeral home in Borger from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Thursday and Friday.
