Shirley Purcell

Shirley Jane Purcell, 74, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021.

Graveside services will be held 10 am Friday, January 22, 2021 at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.   In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to the Church of Christ at Borger.

Shirley was born December 9, 1946 in Borger to William Benson Wood and Zelma Mae Harbin Wood.  She married David Purcell on June 18, 1966 in Skellytown.  She was a member of the Church of Christ at Borger.  Shirley enjoyed shopping, traveling and being with her family.  Nothing brought more joy to her life than playing with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Emily Purcell.

Survivors include her husband, David Purcell of Borger; sons, Kenny Purcell and wife Melissa of Borger, Mark Purcell and wife Myrna of Borger; grandchildren, Kaylee Murray and husband, Tate, Lauren Purcell and Brandon Eakins, Mark Purcell, II, and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Ethan Purcell, Emily Murray, Hudson Eakins, Conner Purcell, Beau Murray; brother, Billy Wood and wife Sherry of Round Rock; sister, Betty Butler and husband Thomas of Amarillo; and a host of extended family.
