Ronald E. “Red” Lasater quietly passed from this world May 7, 2021 at his home in Trinity, TX surrounded by his beloved family. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 10, 2021 at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, July 13, 1941 to Charles (Chock) and Elizabeth Lasater.  He grew up living in Phillips, Texas, a company town.  His mother would drive him to work on the 6666 Ranch, Dixon Creek division, before he could drive.  Red later cowboyed for “The Sixes” for several years. He began his oil and Gas construction career in 1969 and retired from Phillips Petroleum Company in 1999 as a Capital Projects Manager after 25 years with the company.  He married his wife Monet of 51 years in El Paso, TX.   He served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves during the Vietnam era.

While living in Dumas, he was instrumental in starting the Dumas Demon Quarterback Club in 1986.  He was an avid golfer and member of the board of directors of North Plains Country Club and the 35ers Dance Club.  Two years ago he and Monet moved to Trinity, Texas to their dream home on the Westwood Shores Country Club Golf Course to be closer to their family.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents Chock and Liz, his brother Sonny Lasater, daughter-in-law Kim, and granddaughter Kaylin Mathews.

Survivors include:  wife, Monet of the home,  sons: Doug and wife Susan Lasater of Thousand Oaks, CA; Thad and wife Melanie Lasater of Bryan TX; grandchildren:  Caitlyn Lasater and husband Dustin Hunter of Baytown; Jared Mathews of Pampa; Drew Lasater of Bryan; and great-grandchildren Aidyn and Liam Hunter of Baytown.

Graveside services will be held Monday May 10, 2021, 2:00pm at Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger, TX.
