Luther “ Luke ” Burnam, Jr, 71 of Panhandle passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 in Amarillo.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Luke was born August 2, 1948 in Amarillo to Luther Carl Burnam, Sr.  and Hazel (Riddle). He served in the Army as a Staff Sargent in Viet Nam receiving 5 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He lost his first wife and son to the Viet Cong. He served his country for 21 years and as a police officer 21 years. He married Leeann Fletcher February 13, 1998 at Lake Tanglewood. He loved to read, collect John Wayne movies, collecting coins and guns.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Brother Tommy and sisters Carlene and Delores. Stepson Austin Allen.

Surviving is his wife. Sons Luther Burnam III and Paul Burnam  both of Panama City, FL. Daughter Elizabeth Hand of Panama City, FL. Step Daughter Kellie Duckworth and husband Shannon. Brother Danny Burnam of Warsaw, MO. Niece Desi Farris and husband Rick of Garden City, MO. Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
