Jack Logan Worsham, 92, passed from this life at his home Wednesday, November 3, 2021 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of His Life will be Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Boren of Lubbock officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors, and he will be buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega, TX.
Jack was born May 27, 1929, in Amarillo to Lynville Alvin Worsham and Lillian Alyne Harris Worsham. He graduated from Adrian High School and attended Texas A&M and graduated from West Texas State University where he was student body president. After graduation Jack married the love of his life Sharon Montgomery August 26, 1950, in Canyon, TX. They moved to Borger September 1, 1950, where he was a teacher and coach.
Jack’s business career started with Phillips Petroleum Co. doing job evaluations, he then worked for United Mud Services and formed his own company called Rebel Mud Co. Then he moved into ranching and farming and started Worsham Grading Contractors, a heavy dirt equipment company. Then he established Logan Energy Co. working in oil and gas exploration and completing wells in Brown and Hutchinson Counties.
Jack then moved into politics serving as County Commissioner and was appointed as County Judge by unanimous decision. He was required to take part in training each year and he received a designation in Judicial Excellence, his favorite part of his job was criminal law. He said it was an opportunity to help people get their lives turned around and realize a better way. After retirement as County Judge, Jack served as Borger City Judge.
Jack leaves a legacy of faith and integrity, as well as a strong work ethic to his family and all who knew him. Jack served as President of the Borger Rotary Club and was presented the Paul Harris Fellowship award by the International Rotary President.
Jack has been a faithful member of First United Methodist Church since 1950. He has served on every board, taught the Philadelphia Sunday School Class with forty-two couples. He was a certified Lay Speaker with the Methodist Church
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Craig Logan Worsham, his grandson John Logan Worsham, his two brothers George and Ted Bruce Worsham and his sister Marilyn Rudisell.
Jack is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Sharon, his two daughters Cynthia Worsham and Chris Anne Worsham and his grandsons Wesley Logan Worsham and Jackson Logan Worsham.
