Our beloved Diana “Diane” Kay (Yount) Taylor passed away on Saturday, January 8,2022 in Borger, Texas at the age of 76. Diana was born on February 17, 1945 to F.D “Bud” and Delores “Dee” Yount. Diana was raised in Stinnett. She was a Rainbow Girl throughout high school. She loved her town and everyone who lived there.

Preceding her in death was her dad F.D “Bud” Yount, husband Al Taylor, sister Sheilah Yount Walker.

Survivors include: her loving mom Delores “Dee” Duncan of Stinnett; husband James “Jimmy” Shelton of Stinnett and son Scott Shelton of Borger; grandson/son Sean Speed of Borger; son Dean Taylor and wife Mary and grandson Joseph of Ventura CA.; sister Cynthia Swopes and husband Leon of Stinnett; Brother-in-Law Skip Walker and wife Sharron of Stinnett; Granddaughter Cathy Lynn and Kyle Keller of Amarillo, Texas; Grandson Michael and Rachel of Amarillo, Texas; 5 great-grandchildren of Amarillo, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and her very best friend and family by choice, Valerie Stinar and family of Stinnett, Texas.

Diana was very proud of her accomplishment of becoming a drug and alcohol counselor. She lived a large life. She loved helping any and everyone. She volunteered her time with HutchCares, the school and Cub Scouts. From time to time Diana filled in at the Hutchinson County Jail as a cook. She enjoyed attending the Grandmothers Club with her mom. You could always count on Diane to help all the stray animals. She loved all animals, especially her horse Bandit.  She loved all things Elvis and Purple. Diana was always known as the fun Aunt that would allow her great nieces and nephews to do whatever they wanted. Rules never applied when Aunt Diane was around. Above all Diana loved being Gramma to Sean, he truly was her pride and joy.

Stinnett lost a special one with Diana, she had the biggest heart. Anyone who knew Diane was touched by her kindness, love and positivity. She was truly a peacemaker. She loved fiercely and deeply. We take comfort in knowing that Diana is no longer in pain and is resting at the feet of Jesus. A celebration of Diana’s life and the love her family and friends has for her is planned for Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 12pm at the Stinnett Community Building.
