Charles “Chuck” Gilmore, 65, of Stinnett, Texas, passed away on Thursday December 23, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas.

Viewing will be Sunday 12/26 1pm-8pm, Monday 12/27 from 8am-8pm, and Tuesday 12/28 from 8am-8pm at Minton Chatwell in Borger, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday December 29, 2021 at First Assembly of God in Stinnett, Texas with Pastor Dan Powers and Pastor Billy Snider officiating. Burial will follow at Stinnett Cemetery. Arrangements are by Minton Chatwell.

Charles Gilmore was born in Batesville, Indiana to Norman Gilmore and Estelle Fremiel on October 14, 1956. He married Sandra Gilmore on May 7, 1993. He was a proud oil field worker where he put in nearly 50 years of work. He was a loyal employee working for Hooks, BNC Well Service, GP Guinness, West Tex Services, Turner Energy, and Nexoil. His co- workers nicknamed him “Happy Gilmore” and “Smiley” because of his positive attitude and infectious smile. Charles had a great sense of humor and a cheerful personality that was sure to uplift anyone’s mood. Charles was a generous man and was willing to give the shirt off of his back. Everyone who knew Charles knew he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching wrestling, and traveling. But nothing brought more joy to Charles’s life than his family. Charles will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and his bonus grand baby-sitting children.

Charles is preceded in death by mother Estelle Fremiel, father Norman Gilmore, step-mother Lucy Gilmore, sister Donna Gilmore, and nephew PJ Garrard.

Charles is survived by wife Sandra Gilmore of Stinnett; sons Billy Gilmore and wife Kelsey of Edmond, OK, Sam Sigler and wife Brandee of Stinnett, Chris Sigler and wife Marie of Temple, TX; daughter Amber Mowery and partner Brian Huff of Edmond, OK; sister Tresa Garrard and husband Preston of Stinnett; half-brother Robert Gilmore of Amarillo; brother-in-law Toby Martin and wife Brenda of Stinnett; sister-in-laws Cindy Ricci and husband Mike of Crestview, FL, Shelly Stevens and husband Dale of Stinnett; mother-in-law Linda Martin of Stinnett. Charles was a very proud papa to his 6 grandchildren Nicole Mowery, Daegen Mowery, Garrett Sigler, Kaidalyn Gilmore, Beau Sigler, and Marissa Sigler. Nephews Scotty Garrard of Stinnett, David Garrard and wife Amanda of Stinnett, Frankie Garcia of Amarillo, Jonathan Garcia and wife Mary, Brice Martin and wife Erin of Abilene, TX; nieces Felicia Nida and husband Hunter of Harrah, OK, Amanda Garcia-Brunkenhoefer of Seabrook, TX, Elizabeth Hutson and husband Chris of Moore, OK; and his 14 great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Garrard, David Garrard, Frankie Garcia, Toby Martin, Mike Ward, and Hunter Nida.
