Anna Childress

Anna Jean Childress, 93, of Fritch passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.  Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 15 at Minton Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Jean was born in Hedley, Texas on July 24, 1927 to Marion B. and Lillie Messemer Meeks.  She graduated from Hedley High School.  Jean married Joe Junior Childress on August 10, 1946 in Memphis, Texas.  She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family.  She loved to bake and sew and was a lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Sybil and Inez, brothers Doyle, J.D., Alvis, and Casey.

She is survived by her sons, Derry Childress and wife, Patsy of Borger, Alvis Joe Childress and wife, Soonju of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister, Dorothy Tanner of Houston, Texas.  Anna was blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
