Wendyl Sanders

Wendyl Sanders, 84, of Borger, Texas passed away at his home on October 16, 2022. He was born in Enos, Oklahoma on October 3, 1938 to Lenard and Nellie Mae (Skiver) Sanders. His family moved to Borger when he was young.

Wendyl married Jo Butler December 8, 1956 before they graduated from Borger High School in 1957. He retired from J.M. Huber after working 30 plus years.

Wendyl had an extraordinary gift of loving and helping others in a way that always made them feel like they were a blessing, never a burden.

Grandad had a love for the outdoors and he passed his passion for fishing and hunting on to his grandsons.

Wendyl was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Colene and Debi, and his wife of 62 years.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters Christi Abel (Jimmy) and Connie Bodmer (Eric), grandsons Jamey Maxwell (Kelly), James Abel (Whitney), Aaron Abel (Melissa), Joseph Abel (Kacy), Jake Topper (Alyssa), and Trevor Topper. 8 great granddaughters, 1 great grandson, special lady, Joan Carder and family, niece, nephews, many cousins and friends.

Family visitation will be Wednesday, October 19th from 5:30-7:30 pm at Minton Chatwell Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Borger.
