Wayne Leon Board, 64, died Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Lubbock after an extended illness. Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Lieb Cemetery. Mr. Board was born May 7, 1943, and was preceded in death by his parents, Lex and Maye Board of Borger. A West Texas State University graduate, Mr. Board's lifelong career was as a journalist, including positions at the Amarillo Globe News, Southwest Farm Press and Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. He was a proficient journalist, independent thinker and loyal friend.
