Venita Richerson

Funeral services for Venita Richerson, 73, of Fritch will be 2:00 p.m. at the 1st Southern Baptist Church with former Pastor John Denton officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Venita Rae Cowan was born September 3, 1933 to Alfred and Naida Hockett Cowan in Pampa, TX. She attended Miami Schools until 1947 when the family moved to Pampa. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1951 and then attended the University of Texas in Austin. She married Alvin Dale Richerson August 8, 1953 in Pampa, they moved to Fritch in 1969.

Mrs. Richerson was Secretary to the President of Frank Phillips College in Borger and then became the Secretary to the Principal at Sanford-Fritch High School until her retirement. She was a member of 1st Southern Baptist Church and had lived in Fritch since 1969.

She is survived by her husband Dale, Two Sons - Scott Richerson and wife Kellie of Beaver, OK and Clay Richerson and wife Kenet of Olton, TX, One Daughter - Rene Parker and husband Joe of Fritch, One Brother - Richard Cowan of Tampa, FL, Seven Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.

Casket Bearers will be her grandsons, Trae Richerson, Tye Richerson, Travis Parker, Dan Turbett, Ryan Richerson and Matt Cowan.

Memorials may be made to the Panhandle Alzheimer's Association.
