Veda “ Jean” Horner, 88 of Panhandle passed away on December 8, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday December 13, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle. The burial will be in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Jean was born July16, 1934 in Colony, Oklahoma to Walter and Gracie ( Rhodes ) Scott. She married Everett Eugene Horner in 1952 at Clovis, NM. They co-owned Magic Circle Drilling in Panhandle. Jean loved LIFE! She was the life of the party!
She also loved gambling in Las Vegas on slots and winning! She loved dancing at the VFW in Amarillo! and life. She loved family and made everyone the best peanut brittle!
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, brothers Jeff and Bill Scott and one grandson Jason.
Surviving are her sons, Everett Wayne Horner and wife Cherry, Charles Duane Horner and wife Sherri all of Panhandle; daughters, Kathy Darlean Dunn and husband Larry, Janet Kowalewski Richardson and husband Joel all of Amarillo; twelve grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church P. O. Box 991 Panhandle, TX 79068 or the Carson County Square House Museum, P. O. Box 226, Panhandle, TX 79068.
