Born August 23, 1938 to Herman and Willomay Farmer Wicker in Amarillo Texas. Tom graduated for Amarillo High School in 1956 and joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He continued his education at Dallas Baptist University and subsequently attended the Texas Highway Patrol Academy graduating in 1966. Tom moved to Borger Texas as a State Trooper in 1968. Tom continued serving the Hutchison County community by running for County Judge in 1982 serving until 1990. Some of Tom’s civic duties included involvement in the Hutchinson County Sheriff’s department, child welfare, and drugs and alcohol rehabilitation for Top of Texas. Tom continued to reside in Borger the remainder of his life serving his community and the Lord with Central Baptist Church and recently New Life Church.

Tom was a Hot Rod guy with a keen eye for the details. He always had a project in the works and an interest in what everyone else was working on. Good Guys Car Club Shows were his travel ambition, and he attended many across the country showing his creations and gazing at others. He won many trophies along the way.

Tom’s first joy was his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed making memories and teaching life lessons. Many of those lessons included gun safety, hunting, fishing, boating, camping, building projects, and the importance of paying close attention to detail. Going camping was always on the calendar to the families hidden gem in Colorado. Teaching his grandsons on how to live off the land with the bare minimum if it was ever needed. His way with words would always turn into a sermon that will never be forgotten.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, son Todd Wicker and grandson Seth Wicker.

Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years Anne; his son Jerry Wicker and wife Maria of Borger. Daughter Julie Eberting of Coppell, son Lindon Horn and wife Jan of California.
