Tamie Ann Boston

How do you capture a life so beautiful in just a few words? How do you express everything you feel for someone so dear? I don’t have words big enough to do my mom’s life justice, but I hope these words help honor her memory and remind those who knew her how deeply she loved them.

Tamie Boston was born on May 31, 1961, in Borger, Texas, to Homer and Nancy Hillhouse. On November 3, 2026, she passed from this earth to be with Jesus.

Tamie married the love of her life, Ernest S.B. Boston, on December 31, 1982. Together, they raised two sons, Brian and Brandon, whom she cherished. She worked hard to provide for us and gave us her love and support through every stage of our lives. One thing we could always agree on: our home never lacked love. Mom was the glue that held our family together.

She loved board games and was fiercely competitive. In our family, she was the greatest Monopoly player of all time, bar none. One Christmas, it took the entire family conspiring together to beat her, a fact she did not appreciate at the time. It was the only way we stood a chance, though. Sorry, Mom!

Tamie could make anyone feel warm and welcome. She would help at the drop of a hat, gave generously, and expected little in return. Her faith was evident in the way she treated people. She lived out the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

When she became a grandmother, that same devotion extended to another generation. Bailey, Blair, Seth, Malachi, and Noah each held a special place in her heart. She loved them tremendously, just as she had always loved her boys.

A cosmetologist and business owner, Tamie built a beauty salon that grew into several ventures, including T-shirt printing and a small retail gift shop. Her businesses also became places of friendship and belonging. Several women who worked alongside her became like daughters to her, and they came to see her as a mother. Kylee Marion, Karli Duke, Gracie Ortega, Liberty Keeney, and Kessa Knoll were especially dear to her.

To me, this was one of the most beautiful things about my mom: family was not simply a matter of DNA. It was a matter of love. She made room in her heart for people and loved them for who they were.

Tamie devoted much of her life to children’s ministry at Faith Covenant Church and New Life Church. Through that work, she shared her faith and love with generations of children, giving her church family the same warmth and care she gave her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Nancy Hillhouse. She is survived by her husband, Ernest S.B. Boston; her oldest son, Brian Boston, his wife, Laura, and their daughters, Bailey and Blaire; her youngest son, Brandon Boston, his wife, Veronica, and their sons, Seth, Malachi, and Noah; her sister Mylinda Hillhouse; her sister Debbie Crowl and her husband, Jack; and her Aunt Peggy, who was like a mother to her. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved and cherished, along with friends who became family.

If I had to describe my mom’s life in one word, it would be “love.” It was there in the home she made for us, the children she taught, the friendships she nurtured, and the people she welcomed as her own.

We are still trying to imagine our lives without her. There is so much we will miss: her humor, her kindness, her generosity, and the certainty that she was always there for us. We will carry her love with us for the rest of our lives, and we will honor her by sharing it with others.
