Sondra Winette Thomas

Sondra Winette Thomas, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Burwash officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to Calvary Baptist Church, Po Box 1026, Borger, Texas, 79007.

Sondra was born August 4, 1947, in Clovis, New Mexico to Theodore Roosevelt Trent and Winifred Taylor Trent. She married Paul Thomas on July 4, 1979, in McCamey, Texas. Sondra was a gifted pianist and shared her talent as the music director at the Church. She had a true servant’s heart and showed it in many ways like sending cards to everyone, taking food to families, driving people to doctor appointments and being a devout prayer warrior.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Winette Trent; and son, Jimmy Thomas.

Survivors include her husband, Paul of Borger; daughter, Melissa True and husband John of La Vernia, Texas; five grandchildren; one great grandchild with two on the way; and brother, Darrell Trent and wife Marsha of Frisco, Texas.
