Shawn L Sims, 56, of Borger passed away on November 1, 2026, in Borger.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Shawn was born June 28,1970 in Amarillo, Texas to Jackie L. and Janie Mae (Sandlin) Sims. He married Jennifer Germany and they had three kids Austin Sims, Ashton Sims, and Abby Kean. He was an All-American athlete espically football. He was known for being the number one Texas Longhorn fan. He enjoyed going to Red River, New Mexico, riding his razor in the mountains and Blue West at the lake. He loved boating, hanging out with his grand babies. He was an expert cook on the grill or in the kitchen.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and sister, Theresa Sims.

Surviving are his children, Austin Sims of Texas; daughters,  Ashton Sims and husband Anthony Bates of Amarillo, Abby Kean and husband Nicholas of Baytown, Texas; brother, Jason Sims of White Deer, Texas; grandchildren, Sofia Sims-Lopez, Sawyer Lantelme, Sunni Bates, and Avery Bates.
