Sara Soto passed away peacefully in Borger on September 18, 2025, at the age of 68. Born in Mexico on April 8, 1957, she embraced life with warmth, laughter, and an admirable spirit that touched everyone around her. Sara was a nurturing grandmother and loving wife. Admired for her generosity and kindness in the community, she spent 15 years at American National always displaying a smile and kind spirit that encouraged others. Never a complainer, Sara will be profoundly missed.
She was a proud and fantastic cook, often gathering her family around her table to share meals that nourished both the body and soul. An awesome grandma, she loved shopping, walking, and playing basketball, soccer, or baseball with her grandkids. Those joyful moments will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Eric Stottlemyre, Kyler Levario, Kaden Levario, Victoria Levario, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Aleigha, Aryah, and Danni Stottlemyre.
Sara’s vibrant personality lit up the aisles of Walmart, where she was greeted by everyone she encountered. A true survivor, Sara beat breast cancer over 30 years ago and has fought hard with her latest cancer battle.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George of 51 years; her daughters Laurie Levario and husband Victor of Lubbock, and Yvonne Soto of Borger. Sara’s legacy will continue through her adoring family, including her siblings; Chelis Alvarez of Seagraves, Mario Alvarez of Monahans, Chevo Alvarez of Burnett, Cruz Alvarez of Levelland, and sister Gloria Reyes of El Paso.
Sara rejoins her beloved parents, son Gregory, and her sister, Grace Galvan, in eternal rest. They have welcomed her with open arms, and though she will be dearly missed here, her spirit will live on through the lives she touched.
In honoring her memory, services will be held as follows: a Rosary at Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors in Borger on September 22, 2025, at 6 PM; a Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on September 23, 2025, at 11 AM; followed by her burial at Highland Park Cemetery, commencing at 12:30 PM.
