Roy Sims

Roy “Charles” Sims, 78, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in the Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Kelley officiating.  Burial will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Charles was born in Borger, Texas on June 17, 1943, to Bob Hubert and Rita Lois Sims. He graduated from Stinnett High School in 1961.  Charles married Beth Ann Porter in 1986 in Amarillo, Texas.  He enjoyed going to auctions, collecting antiques, hunting, fishing, reading, and taxidermy.  Charles retired from Borger ISD where he worked in the Maintenance Department for many years.  He was known there as “Charlie”.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Beth Ann Sims; parents, Bob and Lois Sims; and daughter, Dion Rachelle Sims.

Survivors include his brother, Bob Sims of Fritch; sons, Danny Fowler-Sims and wife Susie, Rusty Sims and wife Chanté all of Stinnett; step-sons, Jeremy Sharp and Darcy Loughran of Borger, Blake Gaddis and wife, Bridgette of Stinnett; grandchildren, Lisa Hall and husband Kayle, Logan Sims, McKenzie Vaughan, and husband Glen, Connor and Spencer St. Charles; great-grandson, McClaine Vaughan; and his beloved canine companion, Rowdy.
