Roy Nelson Selby, 72, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Grace Church. Private graveside services will be held at Silent Home Cemetery in Roll, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Roy was born July 3, 1953, in Borger to Nelson Selby and Norma Jean Davis Selby. He married Bonnie Thomas on December 18, 1970. Roy worked as an operator for Phillips. He was a member of Grace Church, and he loved sharing his love for Jesus by encouraging others, always being faithful to pray with them, and doing prison ministry as well. Roy was musically gifted not only in singing but by playing the guitar, fiddle and mandolin. He enjoyed going to Blue Grass Festivals and sharing his love of music by playing at nursing homes also. Roy competed in bench rest shooting, was a member of Soldiers for Christ motorcycle club and the Plum Creek Brigade. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but nothing brought more joy to his life than his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Norma Jean Selby; daughter, Audra Selby; and brother, Jackie Selby.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Borger; son, Austin Selby and wife Shelly of Stinnett; honorary son, Jason Lawson; grandchildren, Ricky Selby and wife Gigi, Ethan Selby; sisters, Reta Wells, Reba Helms; numerous nieces and nephews including, Billy McCoy, Thurston Selby, Wallace Selby; and a host of extended family.
