A celebration of his life will be held 11 am Friday, October 8, 2021 in the Minton Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the funeral home in Borger. In lieu of flowers please honor his memory with a gift to the Sanford-Fritch Athletic Booster Club, PO Box 1630, Fritch, Texas, 79036.
Rocky was born January 30, 1954 in Lakin, Kansas to Calvin Clifford Martin and Norma Parker Martin. He married the love of his life, Debbie Barnes, on July 12, 1974 in Pueblo, Colorado. If you knew Rocky, then you knew Debbie was his whole world and he loved her with all his being.
He was the hardest working man you could ever know and he enjoyed it, as you could see by the smile he always had on his face. In his spare time Rocky liked to do remodeling, mechanical work and old cars. In fact he was a “Mr. Fix It” and had an amazing assortment of tools, however, he was a DeWalt man through and through. Rocky had a great sense of humor and always had a pun ready at will.
“Family” that was a word that meant something to Rocky. He spent his life making sure his family knew above anything that he loved them most. That may have been supporting his children and grandchildren in every sport they played or just being there by their side as they walked through their lives.
He is preceded in death by his father, Calvin Martin, mother, Norma Savitelli; and a sister, Janet Armijo.
He leaves behind to carry on his legacy of loving like Jesus loved, his beloved wife, Debbie of Fritch; daughters, Jaime Miller and husband Jered of Fritch, Nikki Lewis of Granbury; grandchildren, Ty Mayberry and wife Bailey, Tucker Mayberry and Reegan Felker, Tate Mayberry, Maverick Miller, Shiah Miller, Stark Miller, Ryli Lewis, Luke Lewis; great granddaughter, Waylon Mayberry; brothers, Calvin Martin and wife Linda of Pueblo, Colorado, Billy Martin and wife Kathy of Bastrop; sisters, Nita Dasher of Pueblo, Colorado, Connie V-Flores; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
