Richard “Dick” Paul O’Gorman, 94, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. Ann Catholic Church, in Stinnett. Burial will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, his memory may be honored with a gift to a charity of choice.
Richard was born June 10, 1932, in Shamrock, Texas, to Dennis O’Gorman and Mary Smyth O’Gorman. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He married the love his life, Dorothy Lorene Grace, on June 6, 1953, in Borger. Richard retired from Phillips E&P after many years of service. After retirement he spent his time farming and ranching. He was a joyful person who carried a melody in his heart and was always singing. Richard had an infectious sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. Nothing brought more joy to this life than being called PaPa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Mary O’Gorman; wife, Dorothy O’Gorman; six brothers; seven sisters; grandchildren, Kyle Dobbs, Joe Yohn, Nikki Contreras; great grandson, Daylen O’Gorman; and daughter-in-law, Vicki O’Gorman.
Survivors include his children, James O’Gorman and wife Pamela of Canyon, Richard O’Gorman of Stinnett, Beverly Gibson and husband Kirk of Pattonville, John O’Gorman and wife Kristi of Stinnett, Eugene O’Gorman and wife Nancy of Ormond Beach, Florida, Mary O’Gorman of Stinnett, Margaret Contreras of Stinnett, Patrick O’Gorman and wife Wendy of Stinnett; twenty grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, with one on the way; sister, Bobbye Crowley of Midlothian; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
