Peggy Richardson

January 18, 1951 — July 15, 2022

Peggy Hawthorne Richardson, age 71, peacefully arrived in the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 15th, 2022, lovingly embraced by her family.  She was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on January 18th, 1951, to the late Walter and Marie Hawthorne.

Peggy graduated from Stinnett High School in 1969, where she was very involved as Drum Major, Twirler and other sports/activities.  She married her best friend, love of her life, Dennis Randle Richardson, on July 9th, 1969, at First Assembly God of Stinnett, Texas.

After their marriage, she journeyed with her husband as he served in the United States Marine Corps. and remained by his side for many adventures until returning to Hutchinson County to raise their family.  After returning to Stinnett, she devotedly and lovingly walked alongside her husband, supporting his dreams as they joined along with dear friends Steve and Kristy Flannagan, to establish Gas Gathering Specialist Inc. for over 40 years.

In addition, 1989 Peggy and her life-long partner in crime, Karen Weatherford, started PK Balloon’s in Stinnett which brought much joy and laughter to the community.  They were infamous for beautiful mums, garter, balloon bouquets delivered with crazy costumes and many unexpected fun pranks and stunts, all to spread laughter and cheer that was contagious.

Peggy possessed a loving, self-sacrificing, generous heart and to say she was devoted to her family and friends would be an understatement. Her personal greatest love, passion and dedication was to her family.  The love in which she zealously served her Lord, her family and friends would be lessened by words alone, but felt deeply by every individual in which she came in contact.

Peggy loved laughter and to make others laugh.  She was infamous for spontaneous pranks, creating games, playing outdoor games with family and in general being joyful, ensuring those around her had a welcoming time, always leaving with laughter and feeling loved.

Peggy was dedicated to her Lord and Savior.  She served in many roles in the church at First Assembly of God.  She had a passion for reading His Word, sharing His Word and served not only as a Reverend’s wife, but also secretary, planning events and teaching children’s classes.

Peggy was an adoring woman who loved with all of her heart and soul.  She has forever imprinted on many hearts and lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Randle Richardson II, parents Walter and Marie Hawthorne, brother Sargent Marvin Hawthorne, brother James Hawthorne and sister Luella Brown.
