Peggy was born January 29, 1941, in Bulcher, Texas to Otha Frank Whaley and Della Medie Robison. She married Michael Dees on August 22, 1959, the first wedding in the new Fritch Church of Christ. Peggy worked as a nurse for many years at North Plains Hospital, then took her nursing expertise to Knowles, Holmes and Wheeler for eight years. Then Peggy worked for sixteen years as a dental assistant for Dr. Dane Welch. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and making doll clothes. Peggy also liked to spend her time gardening. Nothing brought more joy to her life than spending time with her family. She spent her younger years following her children’s various activities and that proved true of her time with her grandchildren as well…she was one proud Nana Poo Poo!

She lived in New Caney for eight years before moving into Rosemont Assisted Living, where she enjoyed teaching sewing and playing games. Peggy was a social butterfly and made many friends, she even named the cook – “Mr. Beautiful.”

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike Dees; and sisters, Modine Burritt, June Ragsdale.

Survivors include her children, Dana Mills and husband, Curtis of Fritch, Damon Dees and wife, Misti of New Caney, Shelly Barbour of Fritch; grandchildren, Amy Villasenor and husband, Jesus, Lacey Farmer and husband, Justin, Mallory Karins and husband, Matt, Zackery Dees and wife Ashley, Brianna Dees, Krissi Mendez and husband Toby, William Dees and wife Ynancy, David Dees, Katy Burdick and husband, Chanc, Jake Davis and wife Jesica, Justin Davis and wife Savannah; great grandchildren, Jayven, Amiyah, Lexi, Bryson, Easton, Rylan, Aiden, Tyke, Mason, Colt, Emma, Libbie, Jaylee, Wally, Addison, Avery, Kinsley, Paisley; great-great children, Steely, Emybr and two more on the way; brothers, Curtis Whaley and wife Debra of Pearland, Kenneth Whaley and wife Linda of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
