Patsy “Pat” Troy Andress went peacefully to be with the Lord on October 18, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1936, to Dana Troy and Gladys Smith Troy and grew up in Borger, Texas. She attended Borger High School, Baylor, and SMU. She married her high school sweetheart, John Barney Andress.
Known affectionately to her grandchildren as Pat Pat, she enjoyed traveling in the states and abroad, playing bridge, and supporting her grandchildren in all their activities. She was elegant and joyful. She loved intensely. She loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She taught her children and grandchildren the surpassing value of knowing Christ. She was a wise counselor who gave them faithful instruction. Her friends became her family, whether the relationships formed while living in Texas or enjoying her later years in Mississippi.
She faced heart disease with courage and bravery, never complaining through difficult times and always very grateful to her doctors, nurses, and everybody who provided care for her. She was an amazing example of joy during trials. We will thank the Lord every time we remember her.
Survivors include her sons John and David (Whitney), and her grandchildren Nathan, Sarah, Patty Bea, Paul, Avery, and John Henry. She was predeceased by her husband, John Barney, and her son, Troy.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and the memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on October 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church Jackson. There will also be a celebration of her life at the home of Whitney and David after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Jackson or French Camp Academy.
