Mary Charlene Robinson Harvin, lovingly known as "Char," passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 9:09 p.m. She was 91 years old.
Born on September 30, 1935, in Borger, Texas, Char was deeply proud of her heritage and her family's place among the founding families of the city she loved so dearly. Throughout her life, she carried that pride with her, remaining devoted to her roots and the community that helped shape her.
On November 22, 1958, Char married Jack Leo Harvin. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, service, and unconditional love. They were blessed with two children, Jack David Harvin and Angela Diane Harvin Andres.
To know Char was to experience kindness, warmth, and a nurturing spirit. She lived for her family and had an extraordinary gift for making everyone she met feel loved and cared for. Often described as a "second mother" to countless friends, neighbors, and children, Char opened her heart and home to anyone in need of encouragement, guidance, or a meal.
As a dedicated volunteer, she served for many years as PTA President and Homeroom Mother at Gateway and Central Elementary Schools, investing her time and energy into the lives of children and families. After her own children graduated, Char continued her lifelong commitment to serving others by helping provide food and clothing to families in need. Her compassion and civic involvement never waned, and she remained active in serving her community until the very end of her life.
Char was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Leo Harvin; her parents, Leon and Minnie Robinson; her sister, Sue Manry; and her nephew, Greg Manry.
She is survived by her son, Jack Harvin and daughter-in-law, Sherry Harvin, of Borger, Texas; her daughter, Angela Andres and Tim Andres, of Lake Mary, Florida; her grandchildren, Joshua Harvin of Stinnett, Texas, Kristen Harvin Morris and Chaze Morris of Stinnett, Texas, Anne Andres Widergren and Conner Widergren of Superior, Colorado, and Alexis Andres of Lake Mary, Florida; and her three cherished great-grandchildren, Scarlett Morrison and Khira Morris of Stinnett, Texas, and Caden Widergren of Superior, Colorado.
Char's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her generosity, kindness, and unwavering love. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, faithful friend, and dedicated servant to her community. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her example of compassion and selflessness will continue to inspire generations to come.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
