Maria Minerva Ortiz

Maria Minerva Ortiz, 69, passed from this life Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her home in Borger. 

A Celebration of her Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday November 7, 2025, at Minton Memorial Chapel under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Maria was born March 1, 1956, in Kingsville, Texas to Manuel Gaytan and Maria Elena Munoz Gaytan.  She married Manuel G. Ortiz on September 25, 1989, in Borger.  Maria loved her family, especially her grandkids, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria Gayton; her husband, Manuel G Ortiz; her son, Manuel Ortiz, Jr.; and her brother, Jose Gaytan.

Maria is survived by her two sons, Francisco and wife Alma Ortiz, Jose Ortiz and JoVetta both of Borger; her two daughters, Bertie Loera of Kingsville, Texas and Christina Ortiz of Borger; her grandchildren, Marcus, Jose, Damian, Alyis, Zylah, Francisco, Jr., Sophia, Briana, Manuelito, Allison, Alicia, A. J.; along with six great-grandchildren; and the Escobar family.
