Loyal Wade Miller of Fritch, Texas was born in Las Animas, Colorado on October 27, 1932, to Hugh Cletis Miller and Mabel Winifred Walters, passed away at his daughter's home in Leonard, Texas on December 27, 2025, at the age of 93.
Loyal grew up in several towns throughout his life, and graduated high school from Sunray, Texas.
In high school, Loyal enjoyed football and baseball, but excelled most in track as he won State medals in the 880 yd dash his last 3 years (3rd, 2nd, and 3rd place). He enjoyed rodeos and as a young teen participated as a rodeo clown to earn wages, then transitioned into bronc riding at 17 for several years. He had various jobs as an adult, ending with his retirement from Canadian River Municipal Water Authority in Sanford, Texas after 34 years.
He was proud to have been a Navy Veteran. He enjoyed owning and training horses, fishing, helping his friends and family, traveling to visit family, and telling stories of many tales about his life. He always had a welcoming smile and big hug for family and his good friends.
Loyal was the husband of Beverly Ann Coble for 23 years before her death; then later Estella Louise Henderson Inman for 48 years before his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Denzil Ramey, and all four of his brothers (Cecil, Russel, Cletis, and Roy Dale).
He is survived by his wife, Estella Miller; children, Max Miller (Regina), Gwen Miller Boyer (Greg Boyer), and Kelly Miller; his step-daughters, Marsha Ames (Pat Ames, deceased) and Patti Inman (Brian Kennedy); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial for Loyal Miller will be held at Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Visitation will take place at 1:00, followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the HSNT (Humane Society of N. TX) Equine Ranch (hsnt.org/ranch), which is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding new homes for horses.
