Kent Orman Eagle was born on October 17, 1938, in Panhandle, Texas, to Marlin and Opal (Shepherd) Eagle. He graduated from Panhandle High School in 1957 and attended Texas Tech University. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1961-1963. After his discharge from the Army, he began farming and was a board member of the Panhandle Co-Op.

On November 18,1963, he married Sherry June Biggers. They had three daughters together, Kay Lynn, Deborah June, and Kathy Diane. She passed away in 1979. He began working at Pantex that year and retired as a Lieutenant in 1997. He retired from farming in 1982.

On January 6, 1996, he married Shirley Ann (Martin) Wasson, in Amarillo, Texas, and moved to Fritch, Texas. That is when his family grew and he gained his "bonus children" Kim, Jamey, Shelly, and Charley, the beginning of the "great Eagle-Wasson merger".

Kent was a member of the Fritch Church of Christ where he served as an elder. He enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, and camping in the mountains. He was a member of Waggs RV Club, where he served as president. He loved telling stories and playing games with family and friends. He was passionate about genealogy and compiled several volumes of family history and lineage.  Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, especially chasing the grandkids. He loved and supported them in everything they did.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Opal Eagle; his first wife, Sherry June Eagle; and bonus son, Charley James Wasson.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Fritch, Texas; his daughters, Kay Lynn Clifford and husband Chris of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Debbie Petersen and husband Eric of Pueblo, Colorado, Kathy Whittenberg and husband Kyle of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; bonus children, Kim Huot and husband John of Borger, Texas, Jamey Wasson and wife Leslie of Spring, Texas, Shelly Biggs and husband Rusty of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Marlee Clifford, Taylor Clifford and wife Jessica, Megan Petersen, Luke Petersen, Seth Whittenberg, Tanner Whittenberg and wife Whitney, Dain Lee and Auburn Langen, Brooke Eggleston and husband Tanner, Lance Wasson and Rachel Biggs; great-grandchildren Haven Lee, Charley and Rylee Clifford, Leo Whittenberg, Blair Eggleston, Sage Valdez, Easton McIntyre and Kaisen Russell.
