Kenneth Lee Curtis

Fritch

Kenneth Lee Curtis, 79, went home to be with his Lord on April 30, 2024, in Fritch, Texas. 

Ken was born in Denver, Colorado to Cecil and Iva Curtis. His family moved to Kersey, Colorado in 1950 where he grew up and graduated from Platte Valley High School in 1962.

He met the love of his life, Bessie Biggs in 1962 and they were married on September 8, 1963.

After attending Bible Baptist College in Springfield, Missouri from 1969-1972 and graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Theology, his family returned to Galeton, Colorado where he pastored his first church. In 1973 a move was made to Fort Collins, Colorado where he was an associate pastor until 1975.

In October of 1975 he took a pastorate position in Fritch, Texas at First Baptist Church. While in Fritch he began volunteering for the Fritch Volunteer Fire Department as well as being the chaplain for the department. He became Fritch's first paramedic. He also worked around town with the school system and City of Fritch.

In 1986 Ken and his wife moved to Greeley, Colorado where he worked for North Colorado Medical Center for nearly 30 years and was the associate pastor at Faith Bible Baptist Church.

Retiring in 2023, Ken and his wife moved from Greeley, Colorado to Stinnett, Texas.

They are members of Riverview Baptist Church in Borger.  He is preceded in death by his parents; Cecil and Iva Curtis, brothers; David and Marvin Curtis. 

Survivors include his wife; Bessie (Biggs) Curtis, three children; Shelly (Pete) Onley of Fritch, Dwayne Curtis of Greeley, and Marty (Becky) Curtis of Keenesburg, Colorado; six grandchildren; Sarah Edwards, Caleb Onley, Todd Curtis, Brianna Zelhart, Morgan Curtis, Draven Faulker, nine great grandchildren, brother Bob Curtis, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Riverview Baptist Youth Missions at Riverview Baptist Church in Borger would be very much appreciated.
