Josh Nivens

Joshua Mason Nivens, 23, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Celebration Family Church with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating, the family also cherishes the memory of Kirk Coker and his words of grace, blessing and encouragement as he shared in many marriages and funerals for our family.   Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the account at Pantex Federal Credit Union in his name or to Laura’s paypal: laurablarson@icloud.com.

Josh was born December 21, 1997 in Amarillo.  He graduated from Borger High School in 2016.  Josh married the love of his life Laura on June 25, 2016.  He worked as an operator for Skyland Grain.  Josh enjoyed cooking, fishing, golfing, hunting, drinking beer and going to the lake.   Nothing brought more light to his life than his wife and his pride and joy “Breck”.

He is preceded in death by his father, Brad Nivens; grandfather, Larry Joe Nivens, Jr.; grandparents, Robert and Jane Hunt; great grandfather, Larry Joe Nivens, Sr.; and great grandmother, Carolyn Nivens.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; son, Brecken both of Borger; mother, Stacy Nivens of Borger; mother-in-law, Julie Keeth of Borger; brothers, Brady Nivens of Borger, Caleb Howell of Rock Port, Texas; grandmothers, Elisha McLaughlin and her husband of Borger, Betty Watkins of Fritch, Beverly Fields of Borger; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of extended family.
