John Reese

John “Reesie” Lincoln Reese, 90, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in the Minton Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

John was born March 26, 1931 in Madill, Oklahoma to Charlie T. Reese Sr. and Irene Loy Reese John.  He was a resident there from 1949-1972, then resided in Fritch from 1972-2008, and spent his last years the VA Living Center in Amarillo.  John worked as a mechanic and electrician for Carbon Plant Phil Black in Borger for 30 years.  He also owned the Fritch Dry Cleaners from 1972-1983.  He proudly served in the United States Army.  John had four true passions in life and they were in this order: patriotism, family, guns and whiskey.  He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

He married Lois June Reese in 1960 and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2008.  Also preceding him in death are a son, Gary D. Reese; siblings, Wallace Kidd, Lucille Owen, Jesses Kidd, Junita Cryer, Justine Wilson, Charlie Reese, Jr., Louanna Ingram, Charlene Rowe and Buddy Lavoy Reese.

Survivors include his daughters, Sharon K. Morin and husband Tom of Fritch, Jennifer J. Bowen and husband Jason of California; grandchildren, Clint Lynch, Karissa Lynch, Misty Reese, Aiden Hodge, Zachary Hodge, Racheal Roop, Katelyn Bowen; and great grandchildren, Brenlee Black, Haylee Rich, Lynnlee Lynch, and Coraline Roop.
