Jewell Vivian Harris

Jewell Vivian (Pieper) Harris was welcomed into heaven on August 14, 2026.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Amarillo. The family has requested memorial donations to your favorite charity in Jewell’s memory.

Jewell was born on December 7, 1933, near Roscoe, Texas to Samuel Monroe Pieper and Myrtle Barnett Pieper. She was the youngest of 10 children. She graduated from Snyder High School in Snyder, Texas.

Jewell married the love of her life, Francois (Frank) Ellis Harris, September 6, 1952, in Snyder, Texas. They shared a joyful life together raising their four children in Borger. They moved to Boise, Idaho in 1974 and returned to Borger in 2005. She was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s group in Borger, Texas. Jewell worked with her husband at CR Anthony Company. Jewell enjoyed gardening and quilting.

Jewell will be lovingly remembered as a beautiful and very stylish lady that loved her family. She was very vibrant, sassy, and strong-willed. She enjoyed being involved with her community - whether that be Borger, Idaho, or Amarillo. She loved the social life at the Park Central retirement community in Amarillo for the last ten years of her life. She and Frank took the job of raising their children to be good people and productive citizens and faithful sons and daughters of Christ very seriously and they were very successful. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Cynthia Reagan; her step-daughter, Pat Crawford; her step-son, James Harris of Fort Worth; her brothers, Rueben Barnett Pieper, Delmon Monroe Pieper, Arnold Pieper, Arthur Lee Pieper, Carl Eugene Pieper, Robert Duane Pieper and Travis Delbert Pieper; her sisters, Norma Orene Pieper Cummings, Velma Faye Pieper Nader; and sons-in-law, Marvin Reagan and Andy Anderson. Her survivors include sons, Frank Harris of Borger, Ron Harris and wife Kathy of Amarillo; daughter, Debbie Anderson and husband Bob Caldwell of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; step-son, Stanley Harris and wife Iris of Arlington; grandchildren, Jennifer Mott, Kim Reagan, Rob Reagan, Jason Harris, Leah Ford, Sam Bishop, Blake Harris, Avery Stringer; many great-grandchildren; and many friends from Park Central, especially JoAnn Bowman.
