Jerry Dale Stanford

Jerry Dale Stanford, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Celebration Family Church with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the funeral home.

Jerry was born November 26, 1939, in Wheeler, Texas to David Albert Stanford and Mary Magdalene White Stanford. He married Lenora Wright on November 23, 1957, in Borger. Jerry retired as an operator from the refinery. He enjoyed watching television, especially the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and westerns. Jerry was a proud longtime member of the Panhandle Blue Grass and Old Tyme Music Association. He had an amazing sense of humor and always had a joke or prank at the ready. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, especially his grandkids, he never missed a birthday party or event for them.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Stanford; wife, Lenora Stanford; son, Perry; sisters, Ollie Stidham, Cordie Knight, Janie Rowe, Mary Helen Smiley, Opaline Flood; and brothers, Aaron Stanford, Johnny Stanford, and Dennis Stanford.

Survivors include his son, Steve Stanford and his wife Ann of Panhandle; grandchildren, Nikki Stanford and husband Kris Allred, Ashly Skelton and husband Seth, Lindsey Stanford and fiancé Jake Loeppky and Lane Stanford and fiancé Jocelyn Brady; great grandchildren, Taylor, Brynn, and Lukas Skelton; partner in crime, Sylvia Witt; brother, Derrell Stanford and wife Betty of Fritch; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
