Jerald Wayne McDonald

Jerald Wayne McDonald was born on September 9, 1942, in Electra, Texas to Raymond and Genevea McDonald. Jerald passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. Jerald married Reba Rannals on July 5, 1963, in Stinnett, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Riverview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the funeral home.

Jerald will be remembered for his infectious laugh and smiling, ornery eyes as well as his love for others. Jerald worked for Frito-Lay and for Phillips 66 Refinery, retiring in 2003. He found joy in playing golf with his family, fishing with his family (especially the yearly family trip to Red River, New Mexico) and cheering on the Texas Longhorns. He was his kids and granddaughters #1 fan in all that they did. He especially loved making every game the girls ever played (with gumballs in hand). His constant support for others extended to his church family as well. Jerald was a faithful member and deacon of Riverview Baptist Church for well over 50 years. One of his favorite “missions” in years past, was that of taking the “VIP’s” of Riverview Baptist Church out to eat once per month. He and Reba also made several trips with this group to Red River, New Mexico in the summer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Geneva McDonald; brothers, Troy, Kenneth, Bob, Leon; his wife’s parents, Lester and Edna Rannals; brothers-in-law, Leroy Rannals and Kenneth Rannals; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Moss.

Jerald is survived by his wife, Reba of the home; daughter, Renea Founds and husband Dale of Amarillo; son, Kevin McDonald of Borger; and granddaughters, Devin DeLapp and husband Travis Carnes of Plano, Texas, Tanley McDonald and fiancé Cash Conaway of Amarillo, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Kevin McDonald, Dale Founds, Rick McDonald, Steve McDonald, Travis Carnes and Cash Conaway.
