February 25, 1951 — April 24, 2023

Borger

Jack Leroy McNeese, 72, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at New Life Church in Borger under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.   In lieu of flowers, his memory may be honored with a gift to Tri City Youth or to a local animal shelter or rescue.

Jack was born February 25, 1951, in Borger to E.B. “Jack” McNeese and Rachel Ellis McNeese.  He married Paula Tinney on July 30, 1994.  Jack enjoyed spending time with family and friends and could always be counted on for good conversation and a lot of laughs. He loved animals and always had a houseful of four-legged family members - all rescues. He would always spoil them rotten with home cooked breakfast each morning.

Jack was an electrician by trade and retired from Phillips Petroleum Company in 2007.  After a couple of years, he got restless and decided to substitute teach and drive the school bus at Borger Independent School District. Substitute teaching the fifth grade was his favorite and because of his love for sports, he enjoyed taking the Bulldog teams to all of the sporting events.

Jack was an avid sports fan, he especially liked the Texas Longhorns, in case his everyday outfit wasn’t clear!  During football season, you could find him at almost every home game or planning his days around the next big Longhorn or Cowboy game.

He was a kind and outgoing guy unless you were an OU fan, then the devoted Texas Longhorn fan would pick on you relentlessly. He spent his younger years being involved with youth sports in the community and working at Park Rec.

He is preceded in death by his parents, E.B. “Jack” McNeese and Rachel McNeese.

Survivors include his wife, Paula of Borger; daughter, Lyndee McNeese and wife Andrea of Austin, TX; son, Shane McNeese of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Kaleb McNeese, Charley McNeese, Madisyn McNeese; brother, Charlie “Duke’ McNeese and wife Marsha of Arizona; mother-in-law, Linda Poston of Borger; sisters-in-law, Stacie Varela of Colorado, LaDonna Coleman and husband Bill of Webster, Texas; niece, Leslie Thomas; nephews, Chris Lusk, David Lusk, Darwin Varela, Shane Varela; great niece, Lynley Rivers; cousins, Stella Knickerbocker, David Badeen and wife Debbie, Buddy Badeen and wife DeeDee, Mike Badeen and wife Theresa, Abe Badeen and wife Lori, Kay Carol Baker; and a host of extended family.
