Heather Renee Bland

Heather Renee (Westbrook) Bland, 51, of Fritch, Texas, passed away at home on Friday, October 23, 2026, following a private battle with cancer.

Heather was born in Charleston, South Carolina, to Ralph and Debbie Westbrook. She grew up in Granbury, Texas, and graduated from Granbury High School in 1993. She made her home in Fritch for the last 20 years and spent more than 25 years working for the Department of the Interior.

Fearless, loving, and strong, Heather faced adversity head-on. She had a goofy sense of humor, a laugh people never forgot, and a favorite saying: “Life ain’t fair, get used to it.” She never took life too seriously and lived every moment to the fullest. She loved golf, crossword puzzles, hiking, traveling, and a good round of Candy Crush. Her chicken spaghetti, tacos, and chili were family favorites. She was happiest at the beach, on the golf course, or anywhere her family was.

Above all, Heather loved her family, and her kids were her greatest pride. She was always there when they needed her, and she made everyone around her feel loved.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Mathias of Fritch; her children, Nicole Kirby of Borger, Nikolas (Reilly) Westbrook of Amarillo, and Christopher (Kaylee) Bland of Amarillo; stepdaughter, Savannah (Bradley) Bevins of Borger; step-granddaughter, Wrenley Bevins of Borger; her parents, Ralph and Debbie Westbrook of Granbury; sister, Tracy (John) Bush of Granbury; nephews, Lucas and Preston Quirl of Granbury; father- and mother-in-law, Chuck and Betty Mathias of Henderson; sister-in-law, Kim (Billy) Honeycutt of Fritch; step-nephew, Ty (Shaeli) Honeycutt, and his daughter, step-great-niece Leighton Honeycutt, of Fritch; and many other beloved family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Lucille Shannon and Ralph Sr. and Julia (Day) Westbrook.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2 pm at Celebration Family Church. A private interment will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
