Harold Paul “Skip” Smith Jr, 77 of Panhandle passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Panhandle Cemetery with Father Hrudaya Raju Kondamudi. Burial is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Skip was born October 7, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to Harold Paul Smith Sr. and Beatrice Margaret (Merrick) Smith.  He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle. He Co-owned with his brother Plains Aluminum Industries “Dust Stoppers” that was founded in 1953 by their father and was a Correctional Officer IV with 5 years of service. He was an lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America  of which his accomplishments included Eagle Scout, numerous national and international Scout Jamborees, Scout Master, Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow, and the Silver Beaver Award. He was a former volunteer Fire Fighter and EMT for the city of panhandle.  He loved railroading, camping, photography, spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving is his sons Harold Paul Smith III and wife Stephanie of Panhandle; Jerrell Smith of Panhandle. Daughters Mindy Roe and husband Noel of Fritch; Mysti Lynn Smith of Panhandle. Brother Douglas Smith of Panhandle. Sister Judy Sharpe-Oglesby and husband Robert of Amarillo. Seven grandchildren.
