Gertrude L. Carpenter Smith, 101 passed away Friday March 1st at Lone Tree, Colorado. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday March 6th at Knowles Cemetery Beaver County Oklahoma. Burial will be under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Gertrude was born August 21, 1911 at Knowles, Oklahoma to Clarence Richard and Margaret Anna Habel Carpenter. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 74 years Earl J. Smith in 2005 and a daughter Colleen Smith.
She is survived by her son Ted W. Smith and wife Karen of Lone Tree, Colorado. Grandchildren Rick and walt Smith, Lynn Werhane, Leslee Evans and Lauren Scroggins. Twelve great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
