Flo Nell Crockett Henderson was born November 25, 1939, in McLean, Texas to Sherman Crockett and Avalee Back Crockett. She passed away September 3, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. Flo Nell attended McLean ISD and graduated in 1958. She attended business school and worked through the years at a doughnut shop, Borger ISD in the cafeteria and at Amarillo ISD as an aide. Flo enjoyed the work, but her passion was being a homemaker for her family.
In 1959, Flo Nell married Charles Henderson and spent 64 happy years of marriage. They had three children: Tonya, Mark, and Mike. They were members of the Church of Christ in Borger. They had seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Flo and Charlie went to games, events, activities, and occasions for each and every one of the children and did the same for nieces and nephews. They were loved and respected by all.
Flo loved family vacations through the years and worked tirelessly to make sure the family members’needs were met, always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. She was a tremendous cook and provided care and affection for everyone. She loved her church family and the law enforcement family they belonged to. She valued people and let them feel valued.
Her son-in-law, Bryan, remarked that she passed her server’s heart to the daughters and granddaughters of the family. She led by example. She also had a love of flowers, babies, and puppies!
Flo was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mark Henderson, and Charlie.
She is survived by grandchildren Jeremy Tate and Ellen of Maine, Matt Henderson and Brittany of White Deer, Texas, Ashley Lauferswiler and Marshall of Amarillo, Texas, Dustin Henderson and Jen of Borger, Texas, Shelby Ortiz and Armando of White Deer, Texas, Kaylee McLaughlin and Chris of Ft. Worth, Texas, Chance Henderson of Borger, Texas, Chelsea Kingham of Amarillo, Texas, and fourteen great grandchildren.
