Evelyn Lorraine Downey, 87, died Saturday, July 29th in Borger.BRBRServices will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jerry R. Lane, Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRMrs. Downey was born on January 21, 1919 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and had been a Borger resident since 1972. She was a clerk at McClellans for three years and had worked for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas during WW II. She married Woodrow Mack Downey on October 6, 1941 in Sapulpa, Ok. and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Alma Martin, four brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.BRBRShe is survived by two sons - John Downey and his wife, Susie of Houston, Jim Downey and his wife, Becky of Pampa, daughter - Janice Ann Stanford and her husband, Johnny of Fritch, seven grandchildren including Jeff Stanford of Fritch and Heather Odgen of Phoenix, AZ., twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Casket Bearers will be Bob Martin, Jim Martin, Danny Martin, Warren Chalmers, Dick Blain and Steve Stanford.BRBRMemorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
