Edward Henry Koetting

Edward Koetting was born in Groom, Texas.  He passed on to eternity with his Lord Jesus Christ on May 5, 2025, at the age of 90 years old.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Yvonne Koetting; his parents; sisters, Mary Lou Williams, Francis Currigan, and Ann Dowdy; and son-in-law, Kyrle Ferrell.

Ed graduated from Groom High School and served in the US Army at Fort Lewis in Washington. He moved to Borger and worked at Phillips Copolymer Plant stacking rubber and retired as a field supervisor after 35 years. Ed lived in Borger, White Deer, and Pampa as he worked for Phillips. He was a member of Keeler Baptist Church in Borger.  After retirement, Ed had the blessing of being able to travel in his RV to most of the 50 states with Yvonne and precious friends who they loved like family. Along with being a great Dad, fun and loving Grandfather aka “Pa”, and wonderful husband Ed was very hard working. He even built the family home (with his own hands) in Borger while working full time each day. Ed loved quail hunting and training his bird dogs.  He never met a Stranger…he could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere and make them laugh and smile.  Ed loved a “Good Western” and long FAST walks.  

He is survived by family members he loved dearly three daughters, Cyndi Ferrell Newell of Borger, Sherri Ammons and husband Kerry of Pampa, Lea Ann Lewis and husband Joe of Midland; six grandchildren, Jay Ferrell and wife Marianne of San Antonio, Emily Ferrell Wellesley and husband Shane of Pampa, Andrew Ammons and wife Dru of Lubbock, Zac Ammons and wife Abbey of Lubbock, Lynley Lewis Brooks and husband Jess of Coahoma, Ethan Lewis and wife Brittany of Kyle; along with six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11am on Friday May 9, 2025, in Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.

The Koetting Family would like to thank Caring Hands Home Health Services, especially caregiver Shawnica Lee, for the compassionate and professional care for Ed “Pa”… husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
