Edgar LeRoy Powell

Edgar LeRoy Powell, 88, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10 am on Monday, January 12, 2026, in the Minton Memorial Chapel at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Jennings, Austin Schneider, Braydn Burris, Kenny Monden, Cooper Jennings, Koy Schneider. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Borger Opportunity Center, 930 Illinois, Borger, Texas, 79007.

LeRoy was born November 12, 1937, in Seminole County, Oklahoma to Nelvin Leon Powell and Annie Farstean Hall Powell. He married Janet Lee Hubbard on August 26, 1961, in Borger. LeRoy proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as an operator for the Sid Richardson plant retiring after 25 years of service. LeRoy enjoyed fishing and holiday get togethers. Nothing meant more to him than being around his kids and grandkids watching them play sports, he never missed a game. If he could share a piece of wisdom with you, it would be to live one day at a time and enjoy each day HE gives you.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nelvin and Annie Powell; brothers, Jimme Dale Powell, Earl Stanton Powell; and sisters, Carolyn Sue Hopkins and Peggy Ann Cowan.

Survivors include his wife, Janet of Borger; daughters, Patti Lynn Ford and husband Marshall of Enid, Oklahoma, Amber Lea Hall and husband Tim of Fritch; grandchildren, Megan Jennings and husband Mark, Melodee Schneider and husband Austin, Brittan Burris and husband Braydn, Asya Monden and husband Kenny; great grandchildren, Raylee, Breecy, Blakelee, Cooper, Koy, C’Jay, Laikyn, Teller Kay or as Papa like to call her “TK” ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
