Eddie Joe Webb, 84, passed away peacefully March 26, 2024 at the VA Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.

Eddie was born September 20, 1939, in Canadian, Texas to Roy and Juanita Webb.

He was a lifetime resident of the area growing up and living in Phillips, Texas where he graduated as a proud Blackhawk in 1958. Then he attended Frank Phillips College and later West Texas State University for 4 years of night school while working days at Philtex.  In the mid ‘70s, he spent three years in Norway as the Night Maintenance Superintendent for the Phillips 66 Ekofisk platform. Upon returning to the States, he set up residence in Fritch, Texas for the following 44 years. He ended his career in 1992 as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Philtex/Ryton Plant.

Eddie was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving Stateside in 1965-68. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. He was an avid fisherman, loved working with wood and yardwork, also, he was Betty’s personal lumberjack supplying countless cords of wood for her continuous fires during winter months.

Eddie never met a stranger. His favorite greetings were “Howdy Neighbor” or “Hello My Friend”. He was a people person and always tried to leave you smiling or laughing at one of his many stories or jokes.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Melvin and Robert and sister Alice Jean.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Webb; daughters, Kathy VanLoon and husband Kelley and Sharla Rawlins; granddaughters, Jessica Rawlins, Casie Michael and husband Joe and Nicole Haney and husband Vonn; and eight great grandchildren.
