Donald Leroy Blythe

Donald Blythe, 90, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Grace Church. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. In lieu of flowers, his memory may be honored with a gift to Grace Church, 401 Gardner St., Borger, Texas 79007. Mr. Don will lie in state at the Fritch Funeral Home Saturday 9 am to 8 pm and Sunday 1 PM until 8 PM.  He will be at the Borger Funeral Home Monday 9 am to 11 am. 

Don was born March 26, 1936, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Willy and Hazel Blythe. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1954. After graduating as high school sweethearts, he married his best friend/wife, Barbara Jean Neill, March 22, 1956, in Cactus. Don owned and operated a truck stop for many years, before he began his career of selling cars. He was an active member of Grace Church. Don enjoyed working in the yard, hunting, fishing, traveling and casino trips. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, especially being called Papa Don and Sugar.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Willy and Hazel Blythe; wife, Barbara Blythe; grandson, Brandon E. Miller; sister, Roseann Lambert; and brothers, Jim Blythe and Benny Blythe. 

Survivors include two sons, Mike Blythe of Fritch, Joe Blythe and wife Cindy of Fritch; daughter, Terri Miller and husband Kevin of Fritch; brother, Bill Blythe and wife Jill; sisters-in-law, Dianne Blythe, Georgia Blythe; brother-in-law, Larry Lambert; eight grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; many very special nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
