David Leon Thompson, 68, of Stinnett, Texas passed away with his loving wife by his side. 

Funeral services will be held at10:00 am on Monday, August 24, 2026, in the Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Hansford Cemetery in Spearman under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

David was born October 19, 1957, in Pampa, Texas to Carroll Hubert Thompson and Bonnie Jean (Auldridge) Thompson. He married Janice Williams, on June 26, 1976, in Stinnett. He loved airplanes, fishing, talking, and sharing the Bible. He could talk to anyone and never met a stranger. David worked in the oil fields for many years before driving a truck at Groendyke.

He is preceded in death by his father, Carroll Thompson; and a brother, James Lee Thompson.

Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Jean Thompson of Amarillo; wife, Janice Thompson of Stinnett; sons, Jon Bradley Thompson and wife Tabitha of Stinnett, Darrell Leon Thompson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Daniel Wayne Thompson and wife Tina of Stinnett; brother, Clyde Thompson and wife Gloria of Taos, New Mexico; sister, Susan Annett Cole of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
